Ambrose H. Sevier [graphic]. [183-?]

Ambrose H. Sevier (1801-1848) is known as "The Father of Arkansas Statehood." Sevier was delegate to Congress, 1827-36 and U.S. senator, 1838-48. As the special envoy to Mexico, Sevier negotiated the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo which ended the Mexican War in 1848.
